Choprop was founded by Yusuf & Shazia Essa, local entrepreneurs who started from humble beginnings. Yusuf, popularly known as "Choppee" started his business career as a hotdog vendor outside the local cafe corner in his hometown of Laudium in Pretoria... Shazia, his wife a Physiotherapist by profession made her career as an Estate Agent in 2006. Shazia started as an intern for a local estate agency, after which she joined her husband in Choprop in 2007. This was initiated after the couple decided to take their Sunday afternoon house hunting hobby to another level. What started in the garage from home business now became Household name in property. Choprop continues to effectively and expertly market and develop property investments in some of the country's most desirable locations.
